There are plenty of opportunities to experience freshly picked, seasonal, nutrious, organic veggies. But where do we find out how to get them? You have found the place to search!

Kristi Bahrenburg Janzen and Renee Brooks Catacalos are the "real people" behind Real People Eat Local and Local Mix email newsletter. After we challenged ourselves (and our families) to eat solely local food for one month in August 2005, lots of friends and neighbors asked us where to get the best local food and what we did with it. Being both moms and freelance journalists, we saw an opportunity to indulge our passion for finding great local food and at the same time create a rich information source for anyone interested in getting closer to their food. We are personally excited about local food, have gathered a lot of information about it, enjoy shopping for it, cooking with it, and eating it. We want to share what we know and encourage others to explore the local food community, too!
