Welcome! Wikis are websites that everyone can build together. It's easy!

Online Chat

This is a test to see how well this works for the wiki. To register a chat name, please do so here, otherwise you will get a generic name. You can also discuss and collaborate on other pages in the wiki (or anywhere else on the web) by entering the URL in the topic field.

Tip: Don't miss out on a conversation because you weren't on the wiki. Click the orange
RSS button on the top right of the chat window and receive transcripts of the chats.

Great Chat Ideas

  • Log in when Hyattsville's City Council meetings are broadcast on cable channel 71 and discuss policy issues or comment on city council members with your television watching brethren.

  • Collaborate in real time anywhere on the wiki. Start here in the chat, type in the URL of the specific wiki page you are working and paste it in like you are sending a message. Once you hit return, it will show up as a hyperlink (blue and underlined). Click on it and it will take you to that page and a new "conversation box" will open up. You can then continue your discussion as you edit that page. You can also jump to any other website on the internet the same way.

  • Feel free to add more ideas here.

Here's an idea for this page. Maybe we should have scheduled times when we can discuss certain things. We can put a post out saying something like "Join us at 8pm on Tuesday to discuss the Wiki and it's content" or something like that. Or maybe we could have a "discuss the article on XXX in the Life & Times at XXpm".
